Orthodontics is constantly evolving with new technologies, medical products and advanced techniques.  Dr. Hilgers is committed to providing state-of-the-art treatment options for his orthodontic patients.  Dr. Hilgers participates in continuing education in order to stay up-to-date on the latest orthodontic treatment breakthroughs.  He also receives additional training in other areas of orthodontics and dentistry, since it is common for orthodontists to work with general and restorative dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists, pediatric dentists, physicians, speech therapists, physical therapists and chiropractors to provide complete, comprehensive treatments for patients.

Dr. Hilgers is involved with several local and national study groups, featuring leaders in the local and national orthodontic communities. He has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals on orthodontics.

Dr. Hilgers has given numerous lectures to orthodontic, dental and allied groups at local, national and international conferences around the world.   In the field of orthodontics, Dr. Hilgers is considered an authority on Cone Beam Computed Tomography technology (CBCT), and his research on CBCT has been cited in numerous industry publications.
